Arthur Holm at ORGATEC 2026: Designing Workspaces Around People

AH Orgatec 2026

What makes a workspace worth coming together for? A welcoming atmosphere, furniture that adapts to different activities, and technology that inspires and makes collaboration feel effortless.

These questions shaped ORGATEC 2026, held in Cologne from 27 to 30 October. Under the theme “From rooms to relationships: designing spaces in an ever-changing world”, this edition placed people and their interactions at the centre of workplace design. For Arthur Holm, it provided a fitting setting to explore how integrated technology can support both the beauty of furniture and the experience of meeting.

Furniture that adapts to the working day

Adaptability was a central thread throughout the event’s programme. Modular workspaces, room-in-room systems, ergonomic furniture and solutions for hybrid working reflected the variety of activities that contemporary offices need to accommodate.

For meeting spaces, this raised a practical design question: how can one table support a presentation, a collaborative working session and a face-to-face conversation?

At Arthur Holm, we brought our perspective on how movement can help answer that question. A screen can rise when participants need to consult information and retract when the conversation takes priority. This ability to change gives furniture greater versatility while keeping the interaction simple.

Designing for connection and comfort

ORGATEC’s emphasis on human relationships encouraged a broader view of workplace design—one that considered how a room feels alongside how it functions.

Acoustics, lighting, ergonomics and media technology all featured within the event’s Workspace Solutions offering, bringing attention to the different elements that shape a comfortable and effective working environment.

For meeting rooms, these considerations translate into everyday experiences: seeing other participants comfortably, hearing each contribution clearly and accessing information without interrupting the discussion.

Our participation reflected a simple belief: technology should help people participate, share ideas and stay engaged, with a discreet presence that complements the room.

Technology integrated into furniture design: Make Your Meetings Count!

For furniture manufacturers and interior designers, ORGATEC offered an opportunity to consider displays, sound and connectivity as integral parts of a project.

Material continuity, carefully resolved openings and concealed cables contribute to the quality of the finished piece. A meeting table should feel coherent whether its technology is in use or out of sight.

Arthur Holm’s DB3Talk illustrated this approach. Its motorised retractable monitor offers adjustable inclination, while its automated hatch is designed for veneering, allowing the finish to complement the tabletop. Besides, the monitor was integrating a retractable gooseneck microphone for a perfect speech intelligibility, a retractable USB camera and a retractable USB-C cable allowing to share contents from a laptop. This gives designers scope to preserve the character of the furniture while accommodating the tools a meeting requires.

A longer view of workspace design

Durability and resource efficiency also formed part of ORGATEC 2026’s central theme, alongside the need for spaces to respond to changing requirements.

For us, this reinforced the value of considering furniture and technology together from the beginning. Planning their integration early helps project teams address how a space will be used, how components will be accessed and how requirements might evolve.

Adaptability extends beyond rearranging a room. It also means giving furniture the flexibility to support different ways of working throughout the day.

Arthur Holm’s participation at ORGATEC 2026

At this edition, we presented solutions that brought these design considerations to the meeting table.

Our showcase included DB3Talk, recognised in the Technology category at the Mix Awards 2026; DynamicSpeaker, our motorised active loudspeaker for table integration; DynamicTalKB, for boundary microphone, and DynamicCableRetract and motorised cable cubby solutions, designed to keep connections accessible within a carefully considered furniture design.

DynamicSpeaker added another dimension to the experience. Designed to enhance speech intelligibility, it retracts into the furniture when no longer required, combining clear audio with a discreet visual presence.

Together, these solutions expressed the idea behind our participation: meeting technology can be readily available while respecting the materials, proportions and details of the furniture.

Thank you to everyone who visited Arthur Holm at ORGATEC 2026!  We look forward to continuing the conversation and exploring how integrated technology can contribute to your next furniture collection, boardroom or meeting-space project.
