This new motorized retractable monitor range combines above-table installation with professional AV control, configurable connectivity and a discreet, hatch-free design
Arthur Holm, renowned for its design-led approach to professional retractable technology, introduces D2, a new motorized retractable monitor designed to combine architectural elegance with the flexibility and system integration required for premium boardrooms, conference rooms and meeting spaces.
“Framed elegance” is at the heart of D2, bringing together design and technological innovations from two of Arthur Holm’s most acclaimed monitor ranges.
D2 builds on DynamicX2, recognised for its award-winning design and patented single-motor mechanism that redefined flexibility and integration, and DB2, whose patented hatch-free construction and understated aesthetics have received multiple international design awards.
The new D2 combines elements of both. It inherits the discreet design philosophy of DB2 while introducing an aluminium tabletop frame that enables flush installation from above the table, eliminating the hatch of the DynamicX2. At the same time, it incorporates the integration flexibility associated with DynamicX2, with options including retractable connectivity and DynamicShare.
For AV integrators, consultants and furniture specialists, the result is a monitor designed from the outset to become part of the table and the wider room architecture, while providing the control, connectivity and service capabilities required for professional AV installations.
Elegant. Retractable. Tiltable.
Every movement has been engineered to provide intuitive operation while maintaining the precision and attention to detail that characterise Arthur Holm products.
With a touch of the integrated capacitive sensor, D2 rises vertically from the table and can tilt by up to 20 degrees, providing an ergonomic and variable viewing position for meeting participants. A second capacitive sensor integrated into the monitor glass provides control over tilt adjustment and retraction. When no longer required, the display retracts into the furniture, with the top of the monitor housing sitting flush with the table surface and a frame built of anodised aluminium.
The approach allows individual participant displays to be available when required while maintaining clear sightlines and an uncluttered table when they are not in use — particularly relevant in executive boardrooms, conference facilities, council chambers and other spaces where AV technology must coexist with carefully considered interior design.
Designed for AV System Integration
Behind D2’s minimalist appearance is a control architecture developed for integration into professional AV systems.
D2 supports addressable RS-422/RS-485 full-duplex control using Arthur Holm’s AHnet protocol, as well as opto-isolated GPI Up/Down control. An RJ45 CAT6 connection with loop-through facilitates AHnet control, while USB connectivity provides service access for firmware upgrades. For commissioning, configuration and maintenance, D2 incorporates Arthur Holm’s Interactive Setup Display (ISD) and AH-AMMC automatic mechanical movement calibration. Through the optional ERT-30 or ERT-60 Ethernet interface, integrators can also use the AHlink app for setup, diagnosis and control, providing additional flexibility during system commissioning and subsequent servicing.
Connectivity Configured Around the Project
D2 can be configured to meet different collaboration and connectivity requirements.
The 17.3-inch Full HD AH17D2 provides two HDCP-compliant DVI inputs as standard. Available options include two HDMI main inputs, projected-capacitive multitouch, built-on PC Box, an input-selection button, integrated retractable USB-C or HDMI cables, an integrated USB camera and DynamicShare.
This modular approach allows consultants and integrators to specify connectivity around the requirements of each project, whether D2 is being used primarily as an individual participant display or as part of a broader presentation, conferencing and content-sharing environment.
Furniture Integration Considered from the Start
The tabletop aluminium frame enables the unit to be installed flush from above the table, simplifying integration into bespoke furniture and avoiding the visible hatch associated with conventional retractable monitor installations.
This provides a clearly defined interface between AV equipment and furniture, helping AV integrators, consultants, architects and furniture manufacturers coordinate the installation during the design and fit-out stages of a project.
Three Sizes
D2 is available to order in 17-inch, 17-inch 4K, 22-inch and 24-inch 4K models, allowing consultants and integrators to select the monitor size and resolution best suited to different room dimensions, seating configurations and applications.
Customisation options further support integration into high-end interiors, with painted, black anodized, gold and bronze finishes available, together with customised laser engraving of the aluminium tabletop frame.
